ADAS Radars, cameras, Lidars and sensors are critical to car safety systems.

ADAS – Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are primarily focused on collision avoidance technologies (for example, lane departure warning and blind-spot applications) and driver aids, such as night vision, driver alertness and adaptive cruise control. ADAS offerings are primarily built into the vehicle, but vendors are beginning to offer aftermarket solutions. Next-generation ADASs will increasingly leverage wireless network connectivity to offer improved value by using car-to-car data.

DAS- Driving Assistance System
DAS is a system that informs and warns, provides feedback on actions, increases comfort, and reduces workload by actively stabilising or manoeuvring the vehicle.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH MY WINDSHIELD?

The sensing devices involved in ADAS are often mounted behind the windshield or directly to the windshield, including cameras, computer imaging software, radars, and other sensors. This means that any slight physical change to your car, particularly to your windshields, can make these sensing devices malfunction – requiring the ADAS be get recalibrated.

According to every manufacturer, it is mandatory to recalibrate your ADAS immediately after the following scenarios:
  • Windshield replacemen
  • ADAS lights are on or flashing [ACC light]
  • Collision
  • Radar, Lidar or multifunction camera replacement
  • Camber Toe Adjustment
  • Change in tyres or ride height
